Privacy Notice

Version 2.3 — Last updated: August 19, 2026

This Privacy Notice explains how TypeHuman LLC (“TypeHuman”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a Georgia, USA company, collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with our websites, browser extensions, Loop Five, CareerTap, student-card tools, Playground and writing tools, Trade Lounge, dashboards, integrations, and related services (together, the Service”). This notice describes our practices; where consent is legally required, we request it separately.

1. Notice at Collection and Information We Collect

We collect the categories below when you create an account, subscribe, activate an extension, upload or submit content, join community or voice features, connect an integration, or contact support. We collect them to provide the feature you requested, secure the Service, administer billing, comply with law, and support users. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

  • Account & Profile: Email address, hashed password, and basic profile data you provide (e.g., display email). We also store your subscription status and renewal dates as received from Stripe.
  • Payment: Billing is processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. Stripe provides us with limited records (e.g., customer ID, subscription state, last four digits, expiration month/year).
  • Licenses: License key(s) issued to your account; limited device data to enforce your license (e.g., a hashed or random device identifier and activation timestamps).
  • Loop Five: Business information, card and QR identifiers, review-flow events, customer-selected highlights, customer notes, generated or edited review drafts, private feedback, and owner responses. Public reviews are posted only when a customer chooses to continue to the third-party review platform.
  • AI-assisted content: When you choose an AI-assisted feature, prompts, notes, drafts, and uploaded or extracted document text needed to provide a requested result. The necessary inputs and context are sent to OpenAI for processing. TypeHuman does not use these inputs to train its own AI model.
  • Google integrations: Google account identifiers, OAuth tokens, Business Profile locations, reviews, and reply activity when an owner connects Google. Tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • Career and student tools: Resumes, profile details, photos, links, skills, education, work history, reference requests, reference responses, and the visibility choices you select. Uploaded resumes are kept in private storage. A profile photo is publicly accessible only when used for the public profile feature.
  • Community and voice features: Profile information, rooms, messages, reports, moderation records, notification settings, connection events, and limited voice-session metadata. Unless a feature clearly says otherwise, we do not intentionally record, store, or routinely transcribe Trade Lounge voice audio.
  • Trade Lounge age attestation: The date of birth you enter is used once by our backend to calculate whether you meet the 18+ requirement. The Trade Lounge eligibility record retains the resulting adult-eligibility status, attestation time, policy version, environment, and any bounded correction date—not your complete date of birth. We do not describe this self-attestation as identity or government-ID verification.
  • Trade Lounge regional eligibility: Our hosting provider derives a country code from the public IP address used for a request. We use that coarse country result to enforce the current United States-only launch, prevent circumvention, secure the Service, and troubleshoot access decisions. We do not use this check to infer an exact home address or for advertising.
  • Telemetry and analytics: Operational logs such as success/error codes, feature usage counts, and timestamps. We do not collect keystrokes or page content merely because the Type Human extension types into a field. Content you intentionally submit to a website feature, however, is processed as described in this notice.
  • Extension Storage (local to your browser): Session and license state, a random or hashed device identifier, preferences, saved-room and notification state needed to operate the extension. This data is stored locally via the browser’s storage APIs. You can remove it by clearing the extension’s storage or uninstalling.
  • Support: If you contact us, we collect the info you send (email, message, attachments) to assist you.

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide and operate the Service, including authentication, billing, and license validation.
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse (e.g., device limit enforcement, suspicious activity checks).
  • Maintain and improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
  • Communicate with you about your account, subscription, and updates.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
  • Generate requested drafts and other AI-assisted outputs, provide business analytics, route optional private feedback, and operate connected Google Business Profile features.
  • Protect users, investigate abuse, moderate community features, and enforce product and platform rules.

3. Sharing & Disclosures

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Stripe (payments & subscriptions). Stripe acts as our payment processor and provides us subscription status and related events.
  • Supabase (hosting, authentication, database). We store account and license data securely in our Supabase project.
  • OpenAI (AI-assisted processing). We send the inputs and context needed to provide the requested generation or analysis feature.
  • Google (sign-in, Business Profile, review, and location integrations) when you choose to connect or continue to a Google service.
  • Vercel for application hosting and delivery, andLiveKit for realtime Trade Lounge voice sessions. When phone verification is offered, Twilio may process the phone number and verification request. We do not disclose Trade Lounge message content to LiveKit, and we do not intentionally record voice-room audio.
  • Business customers: If you submit private Loop Five feedback, it is disclosed to the business you selected. We do not represent that private feedback is anonymous unless the interface expressly says so.
  • Browser platforms (e.g., Chrome Web Store) for distributing extension updates.
  • Service providers that help us operate the Service (under confidentiality and data protection obligations).
  • Legal: If required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, property, users, or the public.

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use essential cookies and secure storage (e.g., Supabase auth cookies) to keep you signed in and protect your session. We do not use third-party advertising pixels. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; however, essential cookies are required for core functionality. If we later introduce non-essential analytics or advertising technologies, we will update this notice and provide choices where required.

5. Security

We use safeguards designed to protect information, including HTTPS in transit, encryption for sensitive integration secrets, authentication, access controls, row-level database rules, signed billing webhooks, and least-privilege practices. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Retention

We keep personal information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, meet our legal obligations, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention varies by data type and product. Billing, security, moderation, and audit records may be kept longer where reasonably necessary or legally required. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to backups and legal exceptions.

User uploads are retained with the related account or saved session. Deleting an Essay Coach session removes the uploads referenced by that session. Deleting an account cancels active subscriptions and removes account-scoped uploads before the account is removed. Limited billing, fraud-prevention, security, moderation, dispute, and audit records may be retained when reasonably necessary or legally required. Backup copies may persist for a limited period until overwritten.

7. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access/Update: You can view and update your profile information in the app.
  • Deletion: Delete your account from Settings or ask us to delete associated data. Some records are subject to legal and security exceptions described above.
  • Portability: Request a copy of your personal data in a portable format where required by law.
  • Public visibility: Career or student profile information is public only when the applicable visibility setting is enabled. You should not publish sensitive information.
  • EU/UK Users: Our lawful bases include performance of a contract (to provide the Service) and legitimate interests (e.g., security, fraud prevention). You may object where processing is based on legitimate interests or withdraw consent where applicable.

To exercise these rights, contact us at contactsupport@typehumanllc.com. We may take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling requests.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is suitable for users 13 years and older. If you are under 18, you should use the Service with the knowledge and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Trade Lounge is an exception and is available only to users age 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, or that a person under 18 is using Trade Lounge, please contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

9. Trade Lounge Territorial Availability

Trade Lounge is currently offered only to people residing in and accessing it from the United States. Country-level IP geolocation can be inaccurate and does not establish citizenship or identity. If access is denied incorrectly, contact support. Billing cancellation, privacy requests, appeals, and account deletion remain available even when Trade Lounge community access is unavailable.

10. International Transfers

We are based in the United States. By using the Service, you understand and agree that your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use legally recognized transfer mechanisms or other appropriate safeguards.

11. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect changes to our practices. If we make material changes, we will post an updated version here with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where required.
